The Sierra Leone International Football Academy is a self-supporting Academy funded privately
by retired and current football players. The Academy base in Sierra Leone and
operates worldwide in football Academies competitions. The Academy has its own
accommodation for full and part-time players.
The Academy caters for foreign and domestic students and football
players who are attending school, college or university and who have a desire to
develop their football talent to its full potential. Read more...

SLIFA officially launched the academy in Freetown on December 29 2007.
Several dignitaries, notably Dr. Jah, Minister of Youths & Sports, Hon.
Chernor Bah (MP), Mr. Abu Backar Kabba, president of Sierra Leone Football
Association, Mr. Gebbor Sherrington, president of Coaching Association, Mr.
Victor Hastings Spaine, Director of Sports Council & SLIFA and other top
ranking governmental department bureaucrats were present to grace the
occasion . SLIFA founder, Benjamin Gordon, delivered the mission statement
and remarks to rally support for the developing organization.
The future of Sierra Leone football can be seen through the tenacity of the
academy’s current acquisitions. SLIFA is proud to acknowledge that within
four months of its inception two of the academy’s brightest have been called
up to the national U17 squad. Mohamed Nicoll, a defender and Alusine Kargbo
a goalkeeper are the first to enjoy the honors of representing their
country. |
